The registrar and chief executive officer National Examination Council (NECO), Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi has officially announced the release of the twenty-twenty four Senior School Certificate Examination external results.
Professor Wushishi who made the release official at the NECO headquarters, Minna, said a total of eighty-six thousand and sixty-seven candidates who registered for the examination, while the total number of candidates that sat for the examination is eighty-four thousand seven hundred and ninety-nine.
A total of eighty-three thousand two hundred and twenty candidates sat for English Language, out of which sixty-two thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine got credit and above representing seventy-five point six two percent, while eighty-three thousand and twenty-four sat for Mathematics out of which seventy-seven thousand nine hundred and eighty-eight got credit and above representing seventy-five point six two percent.
He said the number of candidates who got five credits and above including Mathematics and English Language is fifty-seven thousand one hundred and fourteen representing sixty-seven point three five percent, while seventy thousand seven hundred and eleven candidates representing eighty-three point three nine percent got five credits and above irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.
Professor Wushishi further said the number of candidates booked for various forms of malpractice is six thousand, one hundred and sixty as against eight thousand five hundred and eighteen in twenty-twenty three which is lower by twenty-seven point seven percent.
He noted that seven supervisors, two each in Oyo and Ogun and one each in Lagos, Cross River and Eboyin States were recommended for blacklisting for poor supervision, latenesses and aiding and abetting during the examination.
He added that fourteen centers, ten in Ogun and four in Oyo States were blacklisted for their involvement in whole center malpractice in nine subjects and also gave a further warning to supervisors and centers blacklisted.
