The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has donated four Hilux vehicles to security agencies to boost their morale and to beef up security across the state.
Presenting the vehicles to respective representatives of the agencies at Government House on Wednesday, the governor who was represented by the Permanent Secretary Government House Alhaji Dairu Zaki then urged them to make judicious use of the gesture to serve the purpose it was meant for.
Gov. Idris reassured the commitment of his administration to supporting the security agencies deployed to the state to discharge their duties diligently.
“My administration is ever ready to support you with the necessary logistics to enable you perform your duties diligently.
“Our collaboration with the security agencies is for the common good of our people, therefore, we will not relent, we will make sure that we support you and encourage you to succeed, because, your success is ours,” he said.
Of the total vehicles, the Nigeria Army received three Hilux vehicles while one Hilux went to the Mobile Police.
Receiving the vehicles while speaking on behalf of the Nigeria Army, Major A. P. Azubuine, Commanding Officer, 1 Battalion, Dukku Barracks, Birnin Kebbi, appreciated the governor for what he described as a kind gesture and promised to put the vehicles to good use.
On his part, ACP Aliyu Jega, Commanding Officer, Mopol 36, Birnin Kebbi, assured the governor that the vehicle would certainly aid his men in their tireless efforts to curb the rate of crime in the state.
