The Kebbi State Council of Chiefs has applauded the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris for appointing the Emir of Arugungu, Alhaji Ismail Mohammed-Mera as the 2025 Amirul Hajji.
This is contained in a statement by the Secretary, Council of Chiefs, Laminu Shehu-Kuwwa, issued to Newsmen on Tuesday in Birnin Kebbi.
The secretary said the commendation became necessary in view of the sense of belonging being given to traditional rulers in the state by the present administration.
He noted with satisfaction that His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu has been supporting the traditional institutions across the state, “therefore, we have nothing to offer to the governor rather than to pray for his success at all times,” he said.
Sheu-Kuwwa said the council of chiefs assured that the 2025 Amirul Hajj would neither disappoint the governor nor people of Kebbi State.
The secretary solicited for support and prayers from the people of the state to enable the Amirul Hajj discharge his official assignment diligently.
The state governor had appointed other traditional tittle holders, including District Heads to be part of the 2025 Hajji committee members with the aim of streamlining the traditional institutions and providing them with some level of responsibilities.
