Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago sympathises with the people of Mokwa Local Government Area over the recent devastating flood in the Area that led to the loss of many lives and property.
The Governor in a message through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, describes the incident as saddening, heartbreaking and pathetic, especially with the resultant loss of many lives and property.
He expresses his deepest condolences to the families of those that lost their lives and property in the unfortunate incident, and prays that Allah will grant the deceased Aljanna Firdausi as well as grant quick recovery to the injured.
The Governor directs the Niger State Emergency Management Agency and other relevant stakeholders to take immediate necessary actions while assessing the situation to ascertain the level of destruction with the view to bringing succour.
He called on the people of Mokwa to remain calm as the State Government will work tirelessly to ensure the safety of everyone.
The deadly flood disaster ravaged Tiffin Maza and Anguwan Hausawa Communities in Mokwa town after several hours of heavy downpour which led to the loss of lives and many buildings submerged.
