Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris has tasked contractors handling the 87 kilometre Koko-Dabai road project to ensure delivery of standard and quality job.
He stated this on Tuesday while on an inspection tour of the road to ensure timely completion of the project.
The governor insisted that his administration would not in anyway accept substandard job, saying: “I believe in quality and standard job, therefore, you should not expect this administration to accept anything below standard.
“This administration is ready to support you in any ramification to execute quality work that will stand the test of time.
“However, I am satisfied with the work so far, I have the conviction that you can do the work that’s why I decided to consider the three companies and awarded it to you.”
The 87 kilometre road was awarded to the three contractors namely; Habib construction company, ZBCC construction company and GNIC Nig Ltd. to fast track the work without compromising standard.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Works, Hon. Abdullhai Umar Faruk thanked the governor for supporting the ministry to discharge its mandate diligently.
“We have to appreciate His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu for his consistent support to the ministry which has now culminated into the huge successes we are witnessing in project execution across the state.
“I want to use this medium to appeal to the good people of Kebbi State to rally round the governor to enable him deliver the dividends of democracy to the populace,” he pleaded.
Responding on behalf of other contractors, the Site Manager, Habib Construction Company, Mr Bisher Moushi assured the governor that they would deliver a quality work within the stipulated period.
