The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Niger State, extends its heartfelt condolences to the family of the student who tragically lost his life during the recent robbery incident at the off-campus lodge behind the University’s main gate.
The JAC leadership expresses its deepest sympathy and concern to the host community and the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Hadi Sulieman, over the unfortunate incident. We emphasize the need for proactive measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.
We appreciate the swift intervention of the university management, Etsu Lapai, the Hon. Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and the Hon. Commissioner for Tertiary Education in restoring calm and normalcy on campus. We also commend our members for their composure and concern following the incident.
Finally, we urge the Lapai Local Government Chairman and the Niger State Government, under the leadership of Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago, to support the University Management in addressing the recurring armed robbery attacks on our students and staff within and outside the University Campuses.
