The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu has described the death of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari as a great loss not only to Nigeria but to the entire African continent.
In a condolence message in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday, the governor described the former president as a right honourable gentleman, whose interest was hinged on how to move Nigeria forward.
“Buhari was an icon in Nigerian politics, who managed to clinch the exalted seat of the president through the support and genuine mandate of the majority of Nigerians.
“He will always be remembered for his truthfulness and standing by what he believes without shifting ground.
“Buhari was a father, a brother, a mentor and a role model to many in politics and other spheres of life.
“May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, grant his gentle soul Jannatul Firdaus and give his family, relations Katsina State Government and Nigeria the fortitude to bear the irrepressible loss.”
