The Federal Government has released the second tranche of the outstanding N35,000 wage award arrears to federal workers.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Bawa Mokwa Director, Press and Publication Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) in Abuja.
According to the OAGF, one month out of the initial five months’ arrears had earlier been paid. With this latest payment, three more tranches remain to fully settle the outstanding amount.
The statement dismissed insinuations that the government had abandoned the payments, affirming that the arrears would continue to be settled in monthly instalments of N35,000 until completion.
