The Emir of Zuru in Kebbi State, retired Major General Muhammadu Sani Sami, has passed away at the age of 81.
The Kebbi State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Garba Umar-Dutsinmari, confirmed the monarch’s death in a statement issued in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday.
According to the statement, the Emir died on Saturday night in a London hospital after a brief illness.
He is survived by four wives and seven children.
The Kebbi State Government expressed its condolences to his immediate family, the Zuru Emirate Council, the people of Zuru, and the entire Kebbi State, praying that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings and grants him eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus.
