The Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu, alongside former Sokoto State Governor and Senator representing Sokoto Central, Sen. Aliyu Wamakko, and the Minister of Labour, Maigari Dingyadi, has paid a condolence visit to Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, over the passing of the Emir of Zuru, late Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Sani Sami (rtd.).
According to a statement by the
Chief Press Secretary to the Kebbi State Governor Ahmed Idris during the visit to Zuru, Governor Ahmed Aliyu prayed for the repose of the late emir’s soul, asking God Almighty to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
He described the death of the emir as “a great loss not only to his family, Zuru Emirate, or Kebbi State but to the entire nation,” noting that the late monarch dedicated his life to serving humanity and left behind enduring legacies.
Sen. Wamakko and Minister Dingyadi echoed the sentiments, urging the family, Zuru Emirate, and the people of Kebbi State to find solace in the emir’s impactful life and to continue praying for his eternal rest.
In his response, Governor Nasir Idris thanked the delegation for their visit and prayers, expressing appreciation for the strong ties between Sokoto and Kebbi States. He emphasized the need to sustain this relationship for the mutual benefit of both states.
