Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has received a delegation of businessmen from Russia in Minna, the Niger State capital.
The delegation, which included representatives from Sber Bank of Russia, the Russian Trade Commission, strategic partners and equipment manufacturers, as well as Rostselmash, was led by Mr. Peter Arseniev, Commercial Attaché of the Russian Trade Commission.
Their visit was a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Niger State Government and Sber Bank on agriculture and mining.
Governor Bago described the visit as a demonstration of commitment to the agreement, noting that his earlier trip to Russia was beginning to yield positive results.
He expressed optimism that the visit marked the beginning of a promising future for the state and assured the delegation of continuous follow-up to ensure the success of the partnership, including collaborations in telemedicine and education.
Chairman of Niger Foods, Mr. Sammy Adigun, said the delegation toured several farms in the state and witnessed its vast land and water resources.
Speaking on behalf of the team, Mr. Arseniev and other members described their experience in Niger State as exciting and fruitful, commending the governor and the management of Niger Foods for giving them firsthand knowledge of the state’s agricultural potential.
They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the partnership and harnessing Niger’s resources for sustainable growth.
The state government also hosted a gala night in honour of the delegation, featuring a cultural display and traditional performances.
