The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has flagged off the construction of access roads and drainage project at Badariya, Mopol Barrack area.
Kick-starting the project on Tuesday, the governor said it was meant to provide access roads as part of democratic dividends.
He said: “The present administration is determined to continue to bring meaningful developmental projects to the people of the state.
“This will not only foster unity among the people of Kebbi State but it will also transform the living condition of residents, thereby ease movement and comfort of generality,” he said.
Gov. Idris said construction of road network in the state capital alongside other local government areas were meant to give all manner of people a sense of belonging.
He assured that more of such projects were on the way with a view to ensuring even development across the state.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Works Hon. Abdullahi Umar Faruk Muslim thanked the governor for supporting the ministry to achieve what he described as milestone achievements.
He added that the project included; construction of four number access roads around Abdullahi Fodio Juma’at Mosque with dual drainage system and reinforced concrete outfall at the cost of N2,174,633,033:21.
According to him, the completion period is 12 months from today, while the project is awarded to a qualified indigenous contractor, (B-Tech Global Investment and Service Ltd).
