Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has mourned the passing away of former Commissioner for Agriculture in the State, Alh. Mustapha Tauhid Arah.
In a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary Bologi Ibrahim, the Governor describes the death of Alh. Tauhid Arah as a colossal loss to the State.
He said the deceased was a technocrat who did not hesitate in deploying his wealth of experience to the growth and development of the State.
The Governor said though painful, but late Alh. Tauhid Arah died as an accomplished man.
He prayed to Allah to grant the deceased
Aljannah Fordausi.
The Governor also called on all the family members, and close associates of the deceased to take solace in Allah over the loss because the late Alh. Tauhid Arah lived a good and selfless life.
Late Alh. Mustapha Tauhid Arah was born in 1939 in Arah, Lapai Government Area of the State.
He started his education at Muye Primary School and later proceeded to Abuja Middle School; Ilorin High Elementary School; AdvancedTeachers College Kano.
Late Alh. Tauhid Arah bagged his Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) in History/English then got his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History.
He worked as a Headmaster at Gulu Senior Primary School from 1962 to 1964, later rose and became Vice Principal of Ahmadu Bahago Teachers’ College from 1973 to 1974; Principal of G.S.S Kontagora from 1974 to 1976.
Late Alhaji Tauhid Arah also served as Commissioner at different times and Ministries including the Ministry of Works, from 1979 to 1989; the Ministry of Health from 1980 to 1981; and then the Ministry of Agriculture from 1981 to 1983.
The deceased has some publications such as Nupe-Gwandu Relations in 19th Century, 1973; One-Hand Clapping, and A Biography of a Village Boy 1979, all to his name.
