Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has called on the Northern States to revert to Agriculture to boost food security in the country.
Governor Umar Mohammed bago made the call in an interview shortly after the turbanning of Sen. Halliru Dauda Jika as Dokajin Bauchi and nine others where the traditional title of Shaban Bauchi was conferred on him, at the Emir of Bauchi’s palace, in Bauchi.
He recalled how Agriculture used to be the mainstay of Nigeria’s economy before the advent of crude oil.
Governor Umar Mohammed bago said Niger State has already taken the lead in terms of mechanised Agriculture, calling on other states to follow suit.
He also disclosed that the State is considering a partnership with the Bauchi State Government on Agriculture extension services and livestock.
Meanwhile the Bauchi State Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed commended the Emir of Bauchi for his purposeful leadership style geared towards uniting not only his subjects but all the people of the State.
