Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago was among 10 notable Nigerians that were honoured by the people of the North Central Zone of the Country.
The banquet of honour held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja was in recognition of their outstanding contributions to nation-building.
The former Nigeria Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon who was the Chief host at the event described them as the 11 Golden Stars.
He said the event was organized to congratulate and honour them for their efforts in their various positions and also to appeal to them to accord priority to good governance, ensure peace and security, promote culture and integrity, rule of law as well as meaningful interventions to cater for the basic needs of the people, especially in the present harsh economy.
Those honoured alongside the Farmer Governor include the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, the Minister of Federal Capital Territory Abuja, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, the Governors of Kwara, Nasarawa, Plateau, Benue, Kogi and Taraba and Adamawa States as well as the Chief of Defence Staff.
The event was attended by many eminent personalities in the country.
