To ensure hitch free Easter celebration in Niger State,the state command of the Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed a total of 1,700 men and officers of the corps to man strategic areas across the state towards ensuring the security and safety of the citizens.
The state commandant of the corps Joachim Okafor who gave the order for the deployment of the officers noted that the measure has became imperative inview of the prevailing Security challenges bedeviling some parts of the state.
The Commandant gave the assurance in a press release signed by the command’s Public Relation Officer, DSC Mohammed Rabiu Muti. The Commandant directed on the water- tight security and surveillance activities, foot vehicular patrols across the state to forestall any breach of peace in the state.
Commandant Okafor who made it clear that 1,700 personnel will be deployed to monitor all strategic areas in the state such as Churches ,Motor Parks, Recreational centers and all the Critical National Asset and Government Infrastructure in the State.
He called on the residents to report any suspicious activities to the Corps or other sister security agencies in the State.
He further directed all the Area Commanders, Divisional officers and all the Operational Commanders to ensure the safety of the members of the public during, and after the celebrations.
