The Senate of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai has confirmed the promotion Muhammad Alkali to professional cadre.
The announcement for the confirmation was made at the 95th regular meeting of the Senate held in the Senate Chamber, Main Campus, Lapai.
Dr. Muhammad Alkali who is of the Department of English, Faculty of Languages and Communication Studies is now a Professor of Literature in English.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu announced that the State Ministry of Tertiary Education had earlier ratify the promotions in the absence of Council yet to be put in place.
Two other promotions are, Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Gafar, Reader in Agricultural Economics, Department of Agriculture, Faculty of Agriculture, and Dr. Daniel Ibrahim, Drama and Theatre specialist in the Department of Faculty English, Faculty of Languages and Communication Studies.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu urged them to continue to work harder and use their new positions for the growth of the University.
He also thanked the Visitor, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Niger State, Honourable Umaru Muhammad Bago and the Commissioner , Tertiary Education, Honourable Abdullahi Adamu Mammagi for their support to the University.
