The Federal Government has affirmed that it will host the National Council of Information in Minna, the Niger State Capital.
The Minister, Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, Hon Mohammed Idris Malagi disclosed this when Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Hon Binta Mamman paid a Courtesy Visit to the Minister in his Office, Abuja.
The Minister who was delighted over the visit, commended the Commissioner for the great work she is doing in the State.
According to him, Niger State Ministry of Information was doing well in the State and the need to support her to sustain the tempo cannot be overemphasized.
To this end, he said his Ministry would host the next National Council of Information in Minna as part of the Federal Government Renew Hope Agenda which aligns with the New Niger Initiative of Farmer Governor Mohammed Umar Bago.
He then assured the Commissioner of his Ministry’s support especially in the areas of Media coverage of Government Programmes and Activities, stating further why his Ministry will be hosting the National Council of Information Meeting in Minna to show case the rich cultural heritage to the World and formally make his appearance in the State after his appointment.
The Minister thanked the Commissioner for the visit and wished her well in office.
Earlier, the Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Hon Binta Mamman had congratulated the Minister, Mohammed Idris on his appointment and prayed to Allah to guide him.
The Commissioner who went on to brief the Minister of the functions of her Ministry, took time to enumerate some of the laudable achievements recorded by the present Administration of Farmer Governor Mohammed Umar Bago.
Among which include Agricultural Revolution, Urban Renewal and Township Roads Construction and Expansion as well as establishment of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Teaching Hospital and Remodelling if IBB Specialized Hospital.
Others are purchasing of NGC Busses and 1,000 High Tech Tractors and improved feeding in all the Boarding Schools in the State as well as to payment and clearing of all liabilities.
Binta Mamman then made a passionate appeal to the Minister to support the State to get the necessary Media attention the as State deserve notice that the New Niger Agenda is a collective bargain that requires all and sundry to join force with the Governor Mohammed Umar Bago to making a reality.
