The present administration in the state has expressed commitment towards ensuring full implementation of justice sector reform in the state.
The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris disclosed this at the innuaguration of Justice Sector Reform Team Steering Committee, and unveiling of two additional units in the State Ministry of Justice.
Dr Nasir idris pointed out that the reform when implemented would provide the much needed environment for justice delivery in the state.
He said his administration had executed different projects at the ministry of justice including; recruitment of additional counsel, improved welfare package for law officers, capacity building, provisions of operational vehicles and permanent zonal offices in Argungu and Yauri.
Gov. Idris maintained that his administration would provide further support and assistance to improve access to justice, enhance the quality and timeliness of justice delivery.
He commended the State House of Assembly and judiciary for the support and cooperation being extended to the president administration.
The governor thereafter donated the sum of N100 million Naira to the Equity Bar of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Kebbi State Chapter for the complition of their secretariat.
Speaking earlier, the State Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Junaidu Bello Mashal said the ministry had established additional two units; Citizens Rights and Public Engagements and Gender Based Violence Support Units, for speedy justice despensation in the state.
He thanked the State House of Assembly for the speedy passage of the bill.
Also speaking, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mohammed Usman Zuru, the State Chief Judge, Justice Umar Abubakar and the State Chairman of Nigeria Bar Association, Lawal Hudu-Garba commended the governor for assenting to the bill.
