The Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Niger State Council Comrade Abu Nmodu has paid a condolence visit to a former governor of the State Dr Muazu babangida Aliyu over the death of his mother Hajiya Jamila Aliyu.
Speaking during the visit, Comrade Abu Nmodu expressed the heartfelt sympathy of all practicing journalists in the state over the demise of hajiya Jamila adding that it was a great loss.
The State Chairman of NUJ described Late hajiya Jamila as a mother and grandmother who effectively utilized her time and resources to ensure good moral upbringing and sound education of her children and other dependants.
He explained that, the deceased would be remembered for her simplicity, hardwork, devotion to the service of God and humanity adding that she was a disciplinarian who lived a life worthy of emulation.
He urged the children of late hajiya Jamila not to be deterred by her death rather they should be encouraged to continue with her good works saying the only way to immortalize her was to uphold her principles of truth, fairness, tolerance and care for the less privileged in the society.
Comrade Nmodu noted that though, the loss of a parent especially mother could be devastating, he urged the bereaved family to be consoled by the fact, late hajiya Jamila lived a fulfilled life considering that, her children have excelled in their chosen career contributing to socio-economic and political development of Niger State and Nigeria as a whole.
The State chairman of NUJ on behalf of all journalists in the State prayed to God to forgive her shortcomings grant her aljanatu Firdausi and the family the strength to bear the loss.
Responding , the Chief Servant Dr Muazu babangida Aliyu appreciated members of our Union for sharing the moment of grief with the family and prayed God to reward them abundantly.
