Alhaji Faruku Aliyu-Enabo, Executive Chairman, Kebbi Pilgrims Welfare Board, has commended Journalists for effective coverage of 2024 Hajj operations.
The chairman disclosed this while bidding farewell to fourth flight of over 300 Kebbi prospective pilgrims from Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area and Kebbi Government Officials (KGO) at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi.
The flight which took off at about 3:30p.m. Nigerian time on Saturday is expected to arrive at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 12a.m. Saudi time on Sunday.
Aliyu-Enabo said he was overwhelmed by the publicity accorded to 2024 Hajj operation especially in Kebbi and urged the media to sustain the tempo to enable the board achieve its set goals and objectives.
“I want to use this medium to commend the media for giving the 2024 Hajj exercise the desired and befitting coverage. Let me also appreciate our publicity committee for a job well done, I want them to keep the spirit alive,” he pleaded.
He assured that all flights would take-off according to schedule, adding that no pilgrim from Kebbi would be left out as far as 2024 Hajj “is concerned.”
While advising the intending pilgrims to strictly obey all rules and regulations governing the Hajj exercise, the chairman observed that the Saudi authorities would not hesitate to punish anybody found guilty of any offense.
He, therefore, charged them to be good ambassadors of Kebbi and Nigeria at large by exhibiting high sense of discipline, patriotism and patience while carrying out their religious rites.
The chairman assured the intending pilgrims that Gov. Nasir Idris promised to support them with some token amount to ease their stay in Saudi, noting that: “whatever is given to me will be delivered to you accordingly.”
