Niger NUJ inaugurates Credentials Committee, urges members to be fair and just.
Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Niger State Council, has inaugurated it’s election and Credentials Committee, to conduct elections into the council.
Inaugurating the committee at the IBB Pen House Minna, the Council Chairman Comrade Abu Nmodu, said it was in line with Article six sub-section five of the constitution of the Union.
Comrade Abu Nmodu said the selection of members of the committee was based on merit and therefore charged them to be fair and Just in the discharge of their duties.
The State Chairman of NUJ promised a level playing ground for all contestants by the State Working Committee SWC so as to ensure conduct of free, fair and credible election.
He told the committee to always communicate with the National Secretariat of NUJ on their activities to guarantee a seamless election.
He gave the committee one week within which to come up with a timetable of activities.
Responding on behalf of other members, the Chairman of the committee Mr Ojo Aideloje, thanked the State Working Committee SWC, for confidence reposed in them and promised not to disappoint the Union.
Mr Ojo said the committee members would bring their wealth of experience and wisdom to bear in order to conduct an election that would be acceptable to all.
He promised that the committee would liase with the National Secretariat to fast track it’s activities.
