The President of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Dr. Ike Neliaku says the Former Military President and Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida and General Yakubu Gowon has charged the NIPR to ensure that all its activities change the old narratives in Nigeria and build a world accepted image for the country.
Dr. Ike Neliaku made this known in during a 60th Diamond Anniversary Colloquium and Award Celebrations held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja.
The NIPR President called for an attitudinal change, leadership by example and good governance, stressing on patronising Nigeria local market, industries and business for genuine transformation and development.
He lamented on the poor attitude of the government to developing the country despite the efforts of the professional bodies to ensure the country move to it destined visions.
The President Global Alliance of National Public Relations and Management, Prof. Justin Green said Nigeria NIPR activities is exceptional as many countries all over the world are beaming excellent encomium on activities of the 60th Diamond Anniversary
The President African Public Relations Association (APRA) Arik Karani also said Nigeria is exceptional in it’s journey so far, saying he is proud of Nigeria as a country and NIPR as a professional body
The other personality numerous to mention also arpes on the excellent and professional conducts of the NIPR institute and members and promised to partner to build a greater Nigeria both home and in diaspora.
Former President of NIPR, Professor Rotimi Oladele said the achievement of present a president of the Institution is Dr. Ike Neliaku is super and cannot be described less than the way it is described all over the world.
The immediate past President of NIPR, Mukta Surajo affirmed that most happiest thing he thought the past council the institute did well is midwiving the council of the present President that has transform the faces of the institute all over the world.
The founding father of NIPR, Mazi Mike Okereke in his goodwill message speaks on the need to ensure Public Relations activities is on the driving seat of any government policies and plans for the people, stressing that any country that neglects PR. will perish and plan for crisis.

In his speech, the President of NIPR, President, Dr. Ike Neliaku congratulated the awardees and charged them to use their new honour conferred on them to build a desired Nigeria.
In her Key note Address, the first female vice president and former first Lady of Liberia, Dr.Jewel Cianeh Taylor acknowledged the efforts of Nigeria to the development of Public Relations activities in Africa and beyond.
