Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has said that his administration was steadily fulfilling its electioneering campaign promises.
He disclosed this on Saturday at the inauguration of new exco of Zabarmawa Development Association, Arugungu Local Government of Kebbi State.
The governor said: “We have started fulfilling our campaign promises by executing meaningful developmental projects such as construction and renovation of schools, providing healthcare services delivery, roads construction, supply of agricultural inputs as well as youth empowerment and others.”
Gov. Idris promised that his administration would continue to be loyal and respect the traditional institutions in the state to promote mutual trust and understanding, in view of the fact that traditional institutions were more close to the masses.
“Traditional rulers are the constrain of our culture and tradition, hence the need to give them a sense of honour and dignity for them to discharge their duties of safeguarding these culture and tradition diligently,” he said.
Gov. Idris also assured that his administration would continue to support activities of tribal associations to hasten development in the state.
In his speech, the association’s Chairman, Alhaji Musa Abubakar, who was represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Muhammad Abdullahi thanked the Kebbi State Governor for not only supporting the association but also providing dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
While describing the association as a famous one across the country, the chairman said its main aims and objectives were to promote societal peace and development.
Gov. Idris received certificate of award, while the Secretary to the Kebbi State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida as well as the governor’s younger brother, Alhaji Umar Buro Idris were also recognised.
On the governor’s entourage were; the Dep. Gov. Sen. Umar Abubakar-Tafida, former Dep. Gov. Hon. Bello Danteni, Rector Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic Birnin-Kebbi, Dr Usman Tunga, Hon. Bello Ka’oje, member, House of Representatives, Head of Service, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba-Bena, Hon. Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Garba Umar-Dutsinmari, other Commissioners, among others.
