Former Daily Trust reporter Aliyu Hamagan has been attacked and seriously injured by hoodlums at his resident in Minna.
The veteran journalist was reportedly attacked around two o’clock in the morning by the criminals who inflicted injuries on his head and back with knife and cutlasses.
Aliyu Hamagan who was a correspondent of Daily Trust in Niger, Gombe, Jigawa, and Kebbi states respectively was hospitalized for days at the general hospital before he was discharged.
The attackers of Aliyu catered away his laptop, iPad, iphone and a small phone among other valuables.
The Victim Aliyu Hamagan in an interview with journalists expressed shock on how he was attacked by the criminals who flashed touch light directly on his eyes and request to remain silent throughout their operation.
He thanked God for his life but lamented that they further threatened him that the entire house was surrounded by their colleagues and if he there do anything funny they will eliminate him.
When contacted the Niger State Police Command PPRO, SP Wasiu Abiodun said he is not aware of the said attack but will find out from the concern DPO before he could comment on the matter.
