Niger State government says plans are on the way to review and increase salaries of the public schools teachers’ in the state for the progress of
education sector.
The State Chairman Universal Basic Education Board, NSUBEB Mallam
Muhammad Baba Ibrahim, made the submission at the Zonal Enrollment Drive Campaign Organized by the Niger State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Niger State Universal Basic Education Board in Collaboration with Adolescent Girls Initiatives for Learning and Empowerment, AGILE, which took place in Lavun, Edati, And Mokwa Local Government Area of the state.
The State Chairman of NSUBEB said government’s decision to improve salaries of teachers was based on the importance it attached to educational
development.
He said the administration of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago had
mapped out some policies and Programmes that will be of benefits for all
teachers in the State.
The State Coordinator of Adolescent Girls Initiatives for Learning and Empowerment, AGILE Hajiya Maimuna Ibrahim Tahir, said the current administration has passion for girl child Education, Empowering them, to enable them to complete their Education carrier without any challenge.
The State Coordinator of AGILE, explained that AGILE is doing everything possible to ensure that the girl child in Nigeria is no longer neglected.
Maimuna Ibrahim Tahir, however warned parents and guardians against
depriving their girl child from Education, saying Education remains the best legacy parents can give to their children without any gender biased.
Speaking at the events, on behalf of the Council Chairmen of the three local
government, the Chairman of Edati local government, Sunday Daniel Yisa,
emphasized that the State Government will ensure periodical training and
re-training of teachers for a better future of pupils.
The event has in attendance the traditional rulers, which includes Ezunuwan
Kutigi, Bima of Enagi, and Ndalele of Mokwa, among others.
