Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has inaugurated two main committees for the 61st edition of Arugungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival (AFF 2025) and Land Use and Allocation Committee.
Inaugurating the committees on Wednesday at the Council Chamber, Government House, Birnin Kebbi, Gov. Idris stressed the importance of the festival to socioeconomic development of the good people of the state.
He reiterated the determination of the present administration to supporting sociocultural festivities across the state to promote tourism, cultural and agricultural shows in the state.
He disclosed that the Arugungu International Fishing Festival had been showcasing different cultural and agricultural activities, attracting tourists from across the globe.
“This government is working to ensure the success of the festival which I promised to sustain and in sha Allah 2025 the Arugungu International Fishing Festival will hold,” he assured.
The governor charged all the committee members to justify the confidence reposed in them, as they were chosen based on merit following their past track records.
The Deputy Governor Sen. Umar Tafida-Arugungu is the Chairman of the main committee on Arugungu International Fishing Festival, while former Head of Service, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba-Bena will serve as the D-G/Secretary.
Similarly, Kabir Usman will serve as the Chairman of Land Use and Allocation Committee, while Deputy Director Land in the Ministry of Lands will served as Secretary.
