Youths in Niger State have been challenged on the need to engage in productive ventures that will add value to the society.
The Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Niger State Council Comrade Abu Nmodu, gave the charge when the Commissioner of a Non Governmental Organization, Noble Minds Initiative Adamu Suleiman Mashegu, led other officials on a courtesy call on him at the IBB Pen House Minna.
Comrade Abu Nmodu expressed happiness that members of the Initiative who are youths have organized themselves into a formidable team to fight the vandalization of public infrastructure, illegal mining, and adulteration of petroleum products.
He urged youths that were yet to key into such initiatives to do so since the task of nation building should not be left to government alone.
The State Chairman of NUJ said it was the responsibility of Journalists to expose evil and hold public officials accountable, assuring that they will assist the organization by sensitizing the people on the need to protect public facilities.
Earlier the Commissioner of Noble Minds Initiative Adamu Suleiman Mashegu, said the organization was inaugurated in July at Abuja, to checkmate the vandalization of public infrastructure, illegal mining and adulteration of petroleum products.
Adamu Suleiman Mashegu who is also the Commissioner Petroleum and Solid minerals marketers task force in the state and North Central Coordinator, said the visit was to seek collaboration with NUJ towards publicizing their activities.
He then congratulated Comrade Abu Nmodu for his reelection as the State Chairman of NUJ and prayed God to guide and protect him always.
