The Nigeria Immigration Service, Niger State Command, has decorated more than half of its workforce with new badges of ranks.
This follows the release of the 2024 promotion examination result by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board and the Service Headquarters for Senior and Junior officers of the service.
A total of four hundred and thirteen (413) officers comprised one hundred and thirty two (132) senior officers and two hundred and eighty-one (281) other ranks were decorated in a grand style.
The Zonal Coordinator, Zone ‘D’ Headquarters, Minna, ACG N Odikpo pcc. led the decoration and assisted by the Command Comptroller, MS Ya’u, pcc, representatives of head of security agencies, and members of the Command’s management team.
The Command PRO, Mukhtar Abubakar, who got promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Immigration was among the officers decorated at the event.
In her goodwill message, the Zonal Coordinator, ACG N Odikpo, pcc, appreciated the Honourable Minister of Interior and the Comptroller-General Kemi Nanna Nandap, pcc for facilitating the promotion.
She acknowledged the role played by the Command Comptroller, MS Ya’u, pcc that aided in achieving the great feat.
She further enjoined the promoted officers to give their best to move the Service forward.
On his part, Comptroller MS Ya’u, pcc applauded the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed forces, the Honourable Minister of Interior and the Comptroller-General of Immigration Service, Kemi Nanna Nandap, pcc for making the promotion a reality. He congratulated the promoted officers and charged them to be more dedicated to their duties.
Other dignitaries at the event include the Commander, NSCDC Niger state Command, representative of the Controller Corrections, Niger state Command, the Chairman Local Government Service Commission and host of others.
