The Imams Forum of Niger State has officially appointed Imam Alhaji Adamu Liman Yakatun as its new Chairman. The decision was reached unanimously by forum Executives and announced by the forum’s Secretary, Imam Dr. Umar Farooq Abdullahi, mpi, during a meeting held today in Bida.
The forum pointed the importance of maintaining unity among its members, particularly in light of the recent passing of the pioneer chairman Sheikh Ibrahim Isah Fari. It was noted with solemnity that only three members of the forum’s Board of Trustees remain alive: Imam Yakatun, Imam New Borgu, and the Secretary of the forum.
During the gathering, prayers were offered for the repose of the souls of late members, with a solemn reminder that death is an inevitable part of life.
In his acceptance speech, Imam Yakatun expressed deep gratitude to Almighty Allah and the Emirs for the confidence reposed in him. He extended his thanks to the Imams Forum for entrusting him with this leadership role and committed to promoting peace, unity, and the forum’s development.
He concluded by offering heartfelt prayers for the late Imam Alhaji Ibrahim Isah Fari and all deceased members, vowing to uphold their legacy of service and dedication.
Special prayers were also offered for His Excellency, Farmer Umaru Mohammed Bago, the Emirs and the State at large.
