Niger State Governor, Mohammed Bago has approved the exptention of the ongoing 5 km Mashegu township road project to13km.
The Governor stated this when he visited Igade Community, Mashegu Local Government Area in continuation of his Statewide project monitoring tour.
He said the project extention which will be from Igade in Mashegu to Mariga cattle Market is to boost socio-economic activities in the area and also provide succour to the people considering the untold hardship they face especially in the movement of goods and services.
The Governor added that his administration will construct Healthcare centres and Schools where there are none, and renovate dilapidated ones.
While commending the efforts of security personnel in curtailing banditry and other criminal activities in the area, the farmer Governor restated the commitment of his administration to prioritizing the safety of its citizens.
He thereafter inspected the new Palace of District Head of Mashegu and the renovated Mashegu Council Secretariat, where he applauded the strides of the Council Chairman.
The Governor also addressed the youth and women of the Community, and assured them that his administration will ensure the provision of basic amenities in the community and its environs, while calling on them to be agents of peace at all times .
The Chairman Mashegu Local Government Council, Umar Jibrin Igade, said the Farmer Governor Bago is God sent, particularly to the people of Mashegu local government area as no Governor in the history of Niger State has ever constructed road in Mashegu.
