Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has inaugurated the new governing council of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, (IBBU) Lapai, with a call on them to take the lead as the pioneer state university.
The Governor inaugurated the new Governing Council at the Government House in Minna the state capital.
While inaugurating the 6th governing council of the university, the farmer governor noted that there are other existing state and private universities that are set to compete with the IBBU Lapai, hence, the need for them to be on their toes.
“ We expect that as the pioneer state-owned university who is almost 25 years, .you should take the lead, the bar has been raised high, and we are sure that you will continue to lead and keep leading”.
The Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah, while responding on behalf of other members, appreciated the Governor for giving them the mandate to serve.
He pledged their commitment
to take the institution to a greater height and make it one of the top in the National Universities Commission’s ranking.
In his remarks, the Secretary to the State Government, Alh. Abubakar Usman, said the inauguration was timely, adding that it will serve as a relief to the University management.
