The Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Niger State Council, has commiserated with the State Treasurer of the Nigeria Association of women Journalists NAWOJ, Ruth Gana, of Newsline Newspapers over the death of her father Baba John Ndanusa Gana.
In a statement issued on behalf of the Union, the State Secretary of NUJ Comrade Usman Chiji, said the demise of Baba John Ndanusa Gana was a great loss not only to the family but to Essan community as a whole.
Comrade Usman Chiji described Late Baba John, as a caring father, a devout Christian and community leader who dedicated his entire life to foster peace, unity, progress and mutual understanding among people irrespective of tribe or religious differences.
The State Secretary of NUJ said as the traditional title holder of Kusodu of Essan, late Baba John Gana played pivotal role in ensuring the development of Essan community, inter religious tolerance, sound moral upbringing and qualitative education for the children of all.
He stressed that, the exemplary lifestyle of the deceased is evident in the good character, discipline and exceptional educational excellence of his children who are now contributing to socioeconomic and political development of not only Essan community but Niger State and Nigeria.
Comrade Usman Chiji reminded the children of the Late Baba John Ndanusa Gana that the death of their father is painful but they should be consoled by the fact, he lived a life characterized with the service to God and humanity.
He told them that the only way to immortalize their father is to uphold his principles of honesty, sincerity, love for one another, care for the less privileged and steadfastness in the tenets of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The statement asserted that, the children of Papa John Ndanusa Gana should give glory to God to see their father attain the century age of One Hundred and One (101), a situation which is very rare now.
Comrade Usman Chiji on behalf of the Council Chairman Comrade Abu Nmodu and entire journalists in Niger State prayed that the soul of Papa John Ndanusa Gana will rest in the bosom of the Lord Jesus Christ, and comfort the family, the people of Gbako local government Area and Anglican Church as a whole.
