Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has enjoined all Nigerians to be tolerant of each other, irrespective of religious differences.
He made the call during the 60th birthday celebration of a renowned religious leader and politician who served as running mate to New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso during the 2023 Presidential election, Archbishop Designate Isaac Idahosa in Lagos.
The Governor, who was the Chairman of the occasion, noted how some people have allowed religion to bring division in the society, pointing out that there is no compulsion in religion.
Speaking on the celebrant, Governor Umaru Bago thanked God for the life of Archbishop Designate Idahosa, for living an outstanding life.
He said God has been good and kind to the celebrant, making him look 50 even at 60 years, adding that it calls for celebration.
He prayed for many more years, good health and vitality for the celebrant.
The celebrant, Archbishop Designate Isaac Idahosa who was full of excitement, expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life, which he described as the ultimate.
He said he is the product of God’s grace and mercy because he has passed through many challenges in life, but God has been faithful, hence, he is grateful to God and humanity.
The Archbishop Designate Idahosa appreciated all who graced his birthday celebration and prayed that they too will be honoured in due time.
Speaking to Nigerians, the celebrant called on them to be hopeful as it takes time for anything good to come and that Nigerians need to be patient and supportive of the current leadership while praying for their success.
The occasion was attended by many eminent personalities from all walks of life such as renowned Christian leaders, captain of industries, politicians including serving and former Governors, former Minister, as well as the NNPP Presidential candidate in the 2023 Presidential election, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
They all shared their personal accounts of the celebrant as well as his impactful lifestyle and wished him well as he moves on in life.
The celebration was climaxed by the cutting of the birthday cake, a toast for the celebrant, presentation of gifts and musical entertainment among others.
An award on Agricultural Transformation and Rural Development was presented to the farmer Governor by Bishop Isaac Idahosa Foundation in recognition of his exemplary leadership in initiating innovative agricultural development programmes in Niger State.
