Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has approved the appointment of the Chairman and
seven Permanent Commissioners of the
Niger State Independent Electoral Commission (NSIEC).
They are Engr. Mohammed Jibrin Imam, who will serve as the Chairman, Barr. M.A. Liman as the Permanent Commissioner I, Nasiru Ubandiya Permanent Commissioner II, and Yahaya Idris Abara as Permanent Commissioner III.
Others are, Capt. Mohammed Baro Permanent Commissioner IV, Kabiru Tanko Zama as Permanent Commissioner V, Barr. Amina Guar Permanent Commissioner VI, and Barr. Ahmed Borgu as Permanent Commissioner VII.
The Governor said the appointees, who are to be responsible for the conduct of Local Government Elections were appointed based on their track records.
He tasked them to discharge their duties fairly and justly while placing the overall interest of the State above theirs.
The Governor explained that their appointments is subject to confirmation by the State House of Assembly .
Governor Umaru Bago had earlier sent an Executive Correspondence to the Niger State House of Assembly on the Composition of Niger State Independent Electoral Commission.
