A frontline politician in Diggi and a Chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), has commended the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, for reconstructing Diggi bridge, which was washed away by heavy rainfall.
Namashaya-Diggi, who gave the commendation while interacting with Journalists on the project, said the mini bridge remained the only link between Diggi town and the state capital as well as some neighbouring towns and villages.
He, however, lamented that the only link was washed away as a result of heavy rainfall during the last rainy season.
Namashaya-Diggi expressed appreciation to the state government on behalf of the people of Diggi town for the reconstruction of the bridge, which according to him will boost economic activities of Diggi town and the state at large.
Also speaking, the representative of the construction firm, ABK Construction Company, assured the people of Diggi town that they would ensure quality job that would stand the test of time.
The company representative commended the people of Diggi town for the support and cooperation accorded to the company, which he said boosted the morale of its workers.
A cross section of motorists playing the road lauded the governor for reconstructing the bridge and assured him of their total support and cooperation.
The motorists also commended the contractor handling the project, ABK Nigeria Limited for ensuring quality job so far and appealed to the company to maintain the good work.
Meanwhile, the contractor handling the construction work of a bridge destroyed as a result of heavy rainfall along Dangamaji Maiyalo road, New Horizon Nigeria limited, pledged to execute quality job in line with the contract specification.
The contractor, who stated this while speaking with newsmen at the site of the project, said the project would be the best, saying that their company would always execute quality job.
He then commended the governor for awarding the contract to their company.
Also speaking some motorists plying the road expressed appreciation to Gov. Nasir idris for his efforts to reconstruct their bridge which according to them will go along way reducing the transportation constraints and improve economic activities of the area and the state in general.
