The Niger State Government has signed a $1.2 billion agricultural partnership agreement with AfricaRice Farm Centre in Bouaké, Côte d’Ivoire, aimed at significantly expanding rice production in the state. The Niger State Local Government Service Commission has suspended a proposed training programme for Local Government Information Officers and Assistants following a formal objection by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
