President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to suspend the implementation of the controversial cybersecurity levy policy and also ordered a review. It would be recalled that CBN, on May 6, 2024, issued a circular mandating all banks, mobile money operators, and payment service providers to implement a new cybersecurity levy. Governor Dauda Lawal has paid over four billion Naira in gratuities to retired workers in Zamfara State, which has been owed since 2011. Retired state and local government workers in Zamfara State have not received the gratuities that have accumulated over the years.
