Niger State Government has secured approval from the Federal Government to reconstruct the 90 kilometres of Kontagora-Rijau road project. The Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago stated this when he paid a visit to the Sarkin Sudan of Kontagora, Alh. Muhammadu Barau Mu’azu II at his Palace in Kontagora. A veteran Kannywood actress Saratu Gidado, popularly known as Daso has died while sleeping. The relatives of the actress confirmed her demise on Tuesday to a local radio station in Kano. The Edo State House of Assembly has impeached the embattled state deputy governor, Philip Shaibu. The impeachment followed the adoption of the report of the seven-man investigative panel set up by the state Chief Judge to probe allegations of misconduct against Shaibu. He was impeached during the house’s plenary session on Monday in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
