The Fourth batch of Niger State pilgrims will be airlifted from kingdom of Saudi Arabia back home on Tuesday 24th June, 2024. The Pilgrims will be conveyed to the king Abdul Aziz International Airport Jeddah, in the morning by 11:am for takeoff to the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna by 10:pm. The fourth flight having 482 pilgrims consists of Pilgrims from Chanchaga,Katcha,Paiko, Lavun and Bosso local government areas respectively. Following the recent unfortunate incident that led to the tragic loss of one of our students, the Management of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, had declared Tuesday, 24th June, and Wednesday, 25th June,2025 as Lectures free days in honour of the deceased student. This is a period of mourning to allow students and staff to reflect and pray for the repose of the soul of the departed. The Mokwa Flood Relief Support Group has appealed for a concerted effort to end flood disaster and the attendant loss of lives and property in Mokwa Town. The appeal by the Group came in the wake of the flood disaster that occurred in the Town which claimed many lives and destroyed property worth billions of naira and rendered many homeless. In an effort to boost water supply to residents, the Kebbi State Government has embarked on the rehabilitation and conversion of boreholes from electricity to solar powered. This is with a view to easing water supply to residents, especially in the present electricity disorder in the state.
