The Niger State Government has expedite action on the several road projects embarked upon across the state in order to improve the socio economic development of its rural and urban communities. A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) has suspended the party’s National Chairman, Umar Damagum, and National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu. The Damagum faction had earlier suspended the National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba and National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Adeyemi Ajibade, SAN. The Accountant General of the Federation, Dr. Oluwatoyin Madein has issued guidelines for the exclusion of third-party research grant funds of Federal Universities and Research Institutions from the Treasury Single Account (TSA). In a federal treasury circular issued Director Press and Public Relations, Bawa Mokwa in Abuja, Dr, Madein said the new guidelines would be implemented immediately. She said the guidelines were sequel to the President’s approval of the exemption of research grants and endowment funds of Federal Universities and Research Institutions from the Treasury Single Account (TSA) policy. Kebbi State Government has trained over 40 surveyors on on the Utilization of Modern Survey Equipments for overall digitization of Land Administration System in the State. Addressing the participants at the event in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday, the Project Manager, Kebbi State Geographic Information System Agency ESV. Niger State Government has secured a $1m Scholarship partnership agreement with the University of Toronto, Canada for the training of 100 Students from Niger State pursuing Medical Degrees and Professional Courses at the University. This follows the release of the 2024 promotion examination result by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board and the Service Headquarters for Senior and Junior officers of the service.
