Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Niger State Council, Comrade Abu Nmodu has felicitated with the Christian faithful particularly the working Journalists in the State on the occasion of Christmas and New Year celebrations.

In a Christmas and New Year message issued by the Assistant Secretary of the Council, Comrade Abubakar Adamu Kuta, the Chairman stated that Christmas was a day to reflect and celebrate the teachings of Jesus Christ.

“I felicitate with all Nigerlites, particularly the practicing Journalists under the umbrella of our Great Union, on this significant occasion of Christmas.

“Christmas is a time of love and forgiveness. Therefore, I call on all faithful to emulate the essence of this season and unite for the greater good of not only our Christian brothers and sisters but the Pen Profession.

“We acknowledge your unbreakable resilience and unwavering commitments to upholding the fundamental principles of journalism as well as diligent adherence to ethical codes of the pen profession. Despite the unfavourable condition we found ourselves today and in spite of all these daunting challenges, let it make us stronger never to relent towards setting developmental agendas for the growth and development of the State and nation at large.

“As we celebrate, we should continue to extend hands of love and fellowship to our neighbours and live as one big family, irrespective of our social and religious leanings and continue to trust God for a better tomorrow.

“On this special Occasion, it is my wish, that the genuine love we have for each other will wax stronger in the coming year 2025”. Comrade Abu Nmadu stated.

While urging Journalists to celebrate the Christmas and New year within the confines of the teachings of Jesus, the Chairman urged members of the fourth estate of the realm to remain vigilant and security conscious as well as report any suspicious movement or activities to law enforcement agencies.
