Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris has commissioned a newly constructed Police Station and Police Staff Quarters constructed by a federal lawmaker, representing Zuru, Danko-Wasagu, Sakaba and Fakai, Rep.Tukura Zuru.
Commissioning the office and staff quarters at Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area, the governor applauded the efforts of the lawmaker for the initiative and foresight to bring development to his people.
The governor called on other elected and political appointees to emulate the gesture towards ensuring the development of their respective areas.
“This is a very good development, this will go a long way in assisting the security agencies in safeguarding the lives and property of the citizens,” he said.
Gov. Idris, who was in the area on a thank you visit, appealed to the people of the area to continue to support the security agencies with credible information that would aid in flushing out criminal elements, especially bandits for peace to reign in the area.
“You people knew that I don’t joke with the issue of security in the state, most especially in this area where criminal and criminalities hitherto became rampant.
“It’s worthy to note that since we came onboard, we don’t joke with anything security, I am happy today, people who flee their homes have returned and have gone back to their respective farmlands.
“Therefore, I urge you to continue to support our security agencies with credible information for the good of all,” he advised.
Fielding questions from journalists shortly after the commissioning, the lawmaker, Rep.Tukura Zuru thanked the Kebbi State governor for his commitment towards promoting peace and stability in the area.
“This project is part of my constituency projects and also meant to complement the efforts of the state governor in supporting the security agencies in the state,” he said.
The member highlighted some of his achievements to include; renovation and construction of schools and health care centres across the constituency.
“I have also empowered youth with different skills acquisition training, I donated motorcycles and cars to members of my constituency so as to change their lives,” he added.
The member, who was elected for the second term has also put smile on the faces of the electorate not only in his constituency but also across the state.
