The former Deputy Governor of Niger State, Ahmed Ketso has condoled with the state governor and entire Niger State over the Dikko tanker explosion which killed scores of people and left many severely burnt
He said aside from hundreds of millions of naira of properties destroyed in the devastating inferno, many people are still gnashing their pains over the loss of their loved ones, saying the tragic grief does not only affect Niger State but the entire nation.
The former Niger state Deputy Governor said “tragedy in Dikko which I can only imagine the depth of sorrow and pains caused the victims and their families is a stark reminder of the importance of prioritizing safety, responsible behaviors, orderliness and cautionary measures to avert unnecessary loss of lives and properties of innocent Nigerians.”
He affirmed that all hands must be on deck to ensure that disaster prevention and risk reduction are carried out efficiently to avert future occurrence.
Ketso said the Governor of Niger State, Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago has once again lived up to his oath of office by swiftly visiting the scene of the disaster while it was ongoing, approving the payment of the treatment of the injured and directing the immediate deployment of Doctors from Minna general hospital to partake in the treatment at the Suleja general hospital and for effectively managing the aftermath of the disaster.
He said the efforts of the emergency services, first responders and security agencies are well commended.
“I on behalf of my family express my heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Niger State particularly the families of those who lost their lives and properties, may Allah grant quick recovery to those injured and receiving treatment and may He also replenish the properties of those who lost their properties in multitudes.
