Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has called on the residents of the state to continue to pray fervently for peace,growth and development of the State and the Country at large.
The Governor’s message was relayed through his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba shortly after observing the two units congregational prayer at the Minna Eid prayer ground.
While appreciating Allah for His mercies and guidance, he called for sober reflection and used the medium to remind the residents of the state to also pray for the victims of the recent Mokwa flood disaster.
He also drew the attention of those residing at the River Banks and farmers to be cautious of their activities at the River side as there have been warning signs from weather experts of imminent floods this year.
Former Niger State Governor, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu in his message said every Islamic function is a sacrifice and the Eid- IL- Kabir celebration is a call for total submission to Allah.
He equally called on people to come together as one, pray hard and forgive one another and as well show love and care to the less privileged in the Society.
The Chief Imam of Minna, Mal. Jibril Imam in his sermon called on Muslims to continue to reflect on the teachings of the sacrificial festival and be better Muslims by moving closer to Allah in worship.
The Eid prayer was well attended with the Emir of Minna, Alh. Umar Faruk Bahago, former Niger State Governor Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, Secretary to the State Government Abubakar Usman, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Usman Gbatamangi,deputy chief of staff to the Governor Sadiq Yusuf,Commissioners and several other political office holders.
