Niger State Governor Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has joined other eminent personalities the world over in congratulating India as it marks its 76th Republic Day Anniversary.
The Governor was at the High Commission of India in Abuja where he expressed confidence in Nigeria’s bilateral relationship with India which has continued to blossom with good policy implementation.
While reiterating his commitment to working closely with India for the growth and development of Niger State, Umaru Bago thanked the Indian Government for its support and wished the Country well as it attains an enviable height.
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and Senator representing Niger North Senatorial District, Sen. Abubakar Sani Bello was among other eminent Nigerians,diplomats and many other people of all walks of life that graced the occasion.
The event also featured several Indian traditional dance displays.
January 26 every year is a day India celebrates its Republic Day Anniversary, one of the Country’s most significant dates marking the coming into force of its Constitution.
This year’s theme, ” Golden India, a Legacy of Heritage and Progress”, highlights the country’s cultural legacy and developmental achievements.
