Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has approved the sum of ₦1.14 billion for the payment of gratuity and death benefits to 445 contract staff in the state.
This was disclosed in a statement by Rashidu Muhammad-Bala, Director in the Office of the Head of Service, and made available to newsmen on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the ₦1,144,428,745.74 approved is meant to cover the outstanding entitlements of contract staff who are either retired or deceased.
Muhammad-Bala noted that the payment reflects Governor Idris’s commitment to the welfare of workers and his efforts to streamline the state civil service through good governance.
He further assured all non-indigene staff that the present administration under the leadership of Kauran Gwandu is for everyone, irrespective of tribe or religion.
