Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has commissioned the renovated Emir of Arugungu palace.
Commissioning the palace on Thursday, the governor applauded the emir for fulfilling his promise by justifying the support given to him for the renovation exercise.
Gov. Idris assured the Royal Father that more support would be given to him to complete other side of the palace.
“Actually, I am overwhelmed for what I saw, the palace which was named as Gidan Muhammad Kanta, built in 1934, is now given a facelift,” he said.
Responding, the Emir of Arugungu, Alhaji Ismail Muhammadu Mera thanked the governor for his usual support to the traditional institutions across the state.
“Though, you are here for a condolence, however, I want to use this opportunity to plead with Your Excellency to commission this renovation.
“We remained appreciative of your kind gesture, you gave all the emirs across the state support to upgrade their palaces to standard, I have done mine,” he added.
The Governor also paid a condolences visit to the family of late Supreme Court Judge, Justice Usman Muhammad Arugungu, who died after a brief illness in his home town, Argungu.
Gov. Idris described the late justice as a humble man who sacrificed his life career in assisting the less privileged persons.
