In an effort to strengthen good governance, the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has donated six operational vehicles to Hisbah and Zakkat Boards.
Presenting the vehicle keys to the two benefiting boards, Gov. Idris assured the readiness of his administration to support all sectors of the economy towards the attainment of good governance.
The governor said the essence of the gesture was to strengthen and reposition the boards to effectively discharge their mandate by promoting moral values across the state.
He observed that vehicles were key to the operation of the boards, hence the decision of the state government to extend the gesture to ease the discharge of their respective responsibilities.
“The present administration is determined to continue to give the people of Kebbi State a sense of belonging and a sense of direction.
“The boards cannot carry out their operation effectively without operational vehicles, we therefore, believe these vehicles will go a long way in assisting them to perform their duties diligently,” he said.
The governor urged the benefiting boards to ensure judicious use of the vehicles to serve the purpose they were meant for.
Responding on behalf of the Hisbah, the Hon. Commissioner for Religion Affairs, Arc. Sani Aliyu appreciated the governor for the kind gesture.
“We thank you for what you have been doing for us. May the Almighty Allah be with you and give you more wisdom in piloting the affairs of the state,” he prayed.
