Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris has assured to sustain his administration’s legacy of free distribution of fertilisers alongside other agricultural inputs to farmers to boost national food security.
The governor gave the assurance on Wednesday during a thank you tour to three Local Government Areas of Suru, Koko Besse and Maiyama.
He said the gesture was part of his administration’s commitment towards elevating the livelihood of farmers in the state.
“I want to use this medium to inform this gathering that I will do everything possible to sustain the supply of free fertilisers and other agricultural inputs to farmers.
“I will also ensure that more infrastructure are provided across the nooks and crannies of the state, this is with a view to spreading transformation to all parts of the state,” he said.
The governor appreciated the support given to his administration by the people of the area and assured the readiness of his government to continue to promote peace and unity amongst the people.
Speaking specifically on those who defected from other political parties to the ruling APC, the governor assured them of his administration’s desire to support them and give them equal treatment.
Also speaking, the APC State Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru urged the people of the state to continue to support the present administration under the able leadership of Comrade Dr Nasir Idris.
The chairman encouraged the people to rally round the policies and programmes of the governor for the benefit of the entire state.
He described the successes recorded by the present administration as achievements that have direct bearing on the lives of people.
Kana-Zuru, who received thousands of people from other political parties in the three local government areas, assured them of equal treatment from the party as well as government.
“I welcome you into our great party, you people have made the right decision by joining APC, our party manifestos will no doubt bring changes to your lives,” he added.
Speaking on behalf of other new members, a former Commissioner and a staunch political elite of PDP, Alhaji Mohammed Ruwa (RK) Dakingari said their decision to join APC was based on the achievements recorded by Kauran Gwandu’s government.
“We are satisfied with the achievements of this administration and we are in support of Kauran Gwandu’s mission and vision.
“It is not a mirage, His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris has constructed roads, schools, healthcare centres, and above all, he is into human capital development. Infact, the governor touches the lives of the masses,” he confirmed.
